It is a branch of the main parish church. It houses Nuvolone’s beautiful Annunciation. The edifice, completed in 1678, was built where once the XIV century Madonna del Castello church stood. The fresco attributed to the Cagnoli school depicting Virgin Mary with Child was transferred to the new church and positioned in the first chapel on the left. The church is decorated with precious marbles –notice the twisted Solomonic columns made of black marble and the altar frontals made of scagliola (stucco that resembles marble)- giving the impression of a location deeply influenced by Baroque style. Nuvolone’s canvas represents well this century with its graceful and gentle gestures, influenced by Guido Reni and Correggio.
