The parish church dedicated to Maria Vergine Assunta was founded in 1476, according to the bishop Filippo Maria Visconti will.
It rises south of the village and it appears imposing given its three- span façade with five doors and its structure, once with one nave, then, four centuries later, two more lateral naves were added. Here we find the canvas depicting the Holy Trinity and the Court of the Saints (1628- 1629), attributed to Tanzio da Varallo. The Saints are gathered to honour Christ, standing on a cloud, together with Virgin Mary and the Apostles. The scene is divided in four orders: in the first, from left to right, appears San Giovanni Battista (Saint John the Baptist), San Francesco (Saint Francis), San Carlo Borromeo, San Rocco. In the second San Fabiano, San Lorenzo, the Saints Cosma and Damiano, Gervasio and Protasio. In the third the choir of the Virgins and the Saints and in the last Jesus Christ on a cloud.
The church also conserves another jewel: at the rear of the choir the Assunta painting attributed to Sperindio Cagnoli, one of Gaudenzio Ferrari’s most important student and supporter.
