The oratory is situated inside the cemetery of Caltignaga and mentioned for the first time in 1074. The Consignationes of the 1347 let us know that Saint Salvatore had a provost and two beneficiary clerics. The building has a single trapezoidal hall with semi-circular apse preceded by a short triumphal arch. The truss covering is completed with a wooden false ceiling; a small cross-shaped window opens on the saddleback façade. The wall-paintings, decorating the building and almost completely attributed to Giovanni De Campo and his workshop, are artistically valuable but not well-kept unfortunately. In the apsidal zone, a smart edging contains the mandorla, where the Christ Pantocrator is sided by Saint Andrews and Saint Peter with cripples, poor and derelict people. The figures of saints decorating the underneath register are partially readable, from the left Saint John and Saint Catherine, Saint Dionigi, Saint Nazzaro, Christ in mercy, Saint Secondo, Saint Gerolamo. A graceful Madonna with Child on the Throne among angels and saints Rocco and Peter is depicted on the left wall. Experts individuate a later period and the style of another master.
