From Gondo, via the Stockalper road through the Monscera Pass you arrive at the Bognanco valley. You follow the Zwischbergental , Valle Vaira in Italian. The path winds in front of Gondo on a terrace that allows access to the wild valley of the Zwischbergental, a path that smugglers knew very well. From the monument to the smuggler this path opens with the view of the waterfall of the Grosses Wasser and the potholes, then off to the gold mine. The Stockalper family brought the gold mine to the best exploitation condition between 1660 and 1691. In 1897 it failed and ceased its activity. Even today, however, it can be visited on request. The path cuts through the bends of the road. In the locality of Hoff, cross the bridge and go up the valley on the hydrographic right until just before the lake where you return to the left side; then follow the lake to Zwischbergen. From here take the path towards Passo del Monscera that cuts through the hairpin bends of the alpine trail. You touch the Pussetta Alp and with last steep stretch on steps you reach the Moscera Pass and you enter Italy . Pastures, peat bogs and dozens of lakes open up in Val Bognanco. You go down diagonally to Rifugio Gattascosa and then touching Lake Ragozza you go down to San Bernardo and then Gallinera and Gomba, finally you reach the hamlet of San Lorenzo after having met Graniga.
