Take the Via Crucis and descend into Domodossola to arrive at Domodossola station. From there, through the bridge of Croppo, you can reach Cosasca, a fraction of the Municipality of Trontano; you can see stretches of the paved path that can be walked with difficulty even by animals used for transport.
The route is very suggestive and follows halfway up the coast. Towards Cardezza you can see small stretches still paved. The road continues to Cuzzego and then continues to the Masone bridge. Above the house located at one end of the bridge is always visible the retaining wall that supported the route of the Roman road.
Here there was a port on the Toce, first controlled by the Knights of Saint John, then administered by the Knights of Malta who opened a hospice there. Continue on the state road to Vogogna, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, with its Palazzo Pretorio and the Visconti Castle.
