The building situated in Avogadro street n.4, today is seat of the Chamber of Commerce, though it has been connected to the old family, always in the foreground of the town’s politics and social life. In this case Antonelli works on enlarging and renovating the existing palace; therefore, it has nothing to do with erecting a new building, but rather to give a neoclassic shell to the existing noble residence built during the XVIII century. The project, seriously constrained by the pre-existing structure, is testified by two designs conserved in the Gallery of Modern Art in Torino.
Although the second floor is raised, the building keep its original horizontal asset; the architect then chooses to re-propose and point out the building features using decorations; the cornice that goes around the building signing the division between the two floors, constituted by two lines ( notice the upper one, waved in Greek style) or the cornice moulding.
Some dowels are lost, when in the twenties the Chamber of Commerce moves into the building once occupied by the Bank of Italy.
